Arts Alive to put a spring in Joburg's step

In September, Joburg awakens from its winter slumber and will celebrate the onset of spring with the annual Arts Alive Festival, presented by the City of Joburg.

This vibrant and eclectic feast of arts and culture will take place at various venues in and around the city from 1 to 30 September 2009, and will feature the very best in homegrown theatre, dance, music, visual art and general entertainment.

In addition, there will be several exciting international collaborations to look forward to, as well as that long-standing Joburg institution, Jazz on the Lake, which brings smooth sounds to Zoo Lake on Sunday, 6 September.

The festival's focus this year is on forging partnerships with community groups and giving exposure to Joburg artists and arts practitioners from across the length and breadth of the city - truly taking the arts to the people.
