Likwid Tongue

Likwid Tongue is a collective of multi talented young individuals.
The crew consists of Quaz, Flo, and Vallentine and came together in 2003 at the now defunct Horror café where they hosted monthly charity open mic shows. People were encouraged to donate tin foods, clothes and blankets, and get in for half price. Likwid Tongue in turn distributed it to street kids around Jozi and Alex in particular. The crew has performed in their personal capacities and as a collective all over South Africa (in all provinces) and in places like Botswana (Exodus Poetry Festival) New York , Mauritius and Sweden.
The collective has hosted shows at some of Jozi's most prominent performance venues, including the Horror café, the Drill hall, the Victory theatre, Xarra Bookstore, and many more.
All three are theatre practitioners and they employ this when hosting shows. They assume a wide variety of characters when hosting shows.
This has become the Likwid Tongue show trademark. The shows are more than just a host standing on stage and welcoming acts, they do a lot of little skits and improvisation on stage in between performances.
